july and august were kind of boring, to be honest. i got a job as a custodian at the RB. sometimes i cleaned the gyms, but most of the time i was stuck in the hot and steamy pool area, cleaning the tiles. i guess the good thing was that i got to listen to all the music i had missed for 2 years, and was able to sing as loud as i wanted. some people laughed but i dont care what they say, i'm in love with you; they try to pull me away but they dont know the truth. my heart's crippled by the vein that i keep on closin'...you cut me open.
anywho. i went on my first post-mission date towards the end of july. it was a double date with my roommate, phil. my date's name was grace and we went to the creamery and then to the new batman movie, dark knight. it was a lot of fun (although i was still awkward from being fresh off a mission) and it was a good first date.
before i go on, let me briefly adress the "awkward" issue. you know i really didnt think it would be that hard for me to adjust to regular life, but it was! i quickly got used to wearing regular clothes and listening to regular music, but actions were much harder. to get used to being on your own, to get used to being alone with girls, to get used to being able to be close to girls! these were all much harder. in fact, when i first started working at the RB, this pretty girl offered me a ride home and i wouldn't take it! just cuz i was used to saying no to stuff like that on my mission. i also found that when sitting--anywhere--when a girl would sit next to me, i would sit as far away from her as possible, unconsciously. i would only notice a while later. i think i've gotten over that one--hopefully!
anyway. now lets talk about roommates. this summer there was me, phil, and spencer. me and phil got along well but well for some reason spencer slept in the living room all the time and there were dirty dishes and nail clippings and...it was kinda gross. now theres me and phil, plus brandon and john. we get along well and its going to be a good semester.
phil and i did a fun double date in august. it was called "italiano notte"--italian night. we made manicotti, listened to big band music, danced, and watched "roman holiday." it was a lot of fun.
since school started, i've been on a "dating rewards program" set up by my parents. basically, for every 7 dates i go on, i get a reward. like this weekend the reward is a nice dinner at bombay house. yummmm. anyway its been really good to go on a lot of dates (this weekend will be 10) to figure out what i'm looking for in a girl, i guess.
lets see...school. i'm taking biology 100, history 201 (beginning of time to 1400 ad), turkish, doctrine and covenants, world dance, and folk dance. my favourites are definitely world and folk dance. in fact, tomorrow morning (oh actually in 8 hours), we (the folk dance team) perform in the homecoming parade. we are doing an indian dance and an american dance. hopefully it will go well and be a lot of fun! its been weird to be back here at byu and not have things the same as they were my freshman year. AND to not have the same people here (like mary). but i really love BYU and the atmosphere and the strength it is to my spirit.
nowadays i work at the library as a custodian again, but now i'm a "detailer." this means i get paid more than regular custodians ($9.21) but i have to work alone for about 4 hours per night scrubbing floors and walls, scraping sinks and "trick-or-treating" in "fe-mail" boxes. (aka taking bloody tampons out of those gross boxes in the stalls.)
ok time to end cuz now i'm just babbling. ok, tarra a bit, duck!

we've just been updating on your life. The reason why it didn't show you had new posts was because the url was just the post from july. Anyway we got it worked out. Good stuff you got going. A little too much info about the "fe-mail" part! mark thought it was funny.
